YAMAHA PHILIPPINES RACING TEAM OPENS ARRC SEASON WITH STRONG PERFORMANCE

Yamaha Philippines Racing delivered a strong and determined performance in the opening round of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), showcasing speed, resilience, and competitive intent across both the SS600 and UB150 classes.

In the SS600 category, McKinley Kyle Paz set the tone for Yamaha with a composed and calculated weekend. Launching from P8 on the grid, Paz immediately established himself in the front-running battle, navigating tight pack racing and high-pressure exchanges to secure P5 in Race 1. 

He returned even sharper in Race 2, pushing the pace and executing clean, decisive moves to finish P4. Consistently running at the front, Paz proved he is well within reach of podium contention as the season progresses.

The UB150 class saw an electrifying response from April King Mascardo, who turned adversity into a defining moment. After a strong P4 qualifying position, Mascardo faced a difficult Race 1, finishing P14. Refusing to back down, he came into Race 2 with renewed aggression and confidence, slicing through the field with precision and intent. 

Lap after lap, he closed the gap to the leaders, ultimately securing an impressive P2 podium finish. His performance highlighted his ability to deliver under pressure.

Timothy Rojas continued to build momentum in the UB150 category, showing steady growth throughout the weekend. 

Starting from P19, Rojas focused on consistency and control, gaining valuable positions in Race 1 to finish P17. In Race 2, he pushed further, improving to P15 while maintaining composure in a highly competitive field. His progression reflects a strong foundation and increasing confidence as he continues to adapt to the demands of regional competition.

Across both categories, Yamaha Philippines Racing demonstrated its commitment to pushing the pace and competing at a high level against Asia’s best. Each rider brought a distinct strength to the weekend, from front-running consistency to breakthrough performances and steady progression.

With momentum building, the team now sets its sights on Round 2 of the ARRC, happening on May 8 to 10 at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. Known for its long straights and technical corners, the track presents a new challenge that will demand both precision and power.

Yamaha Philippines Racing enters the next round with confidence, carrying valuable data, stronger race rhythm, and a clear objective to push even further up the grid. With podium pace already within reach and performances continuing to build, the team remains focused on delivering results and defying limits as the season unfolds.
