According to BSB Junrose Chairman Ricardo Bangayan, son of the company’s founder, no one understood the industry better than the elder Bangayan. “Our founder was a former jeepney driver. That’s why he perfectly understood the needs and challenges of the sector, which led him to explore and pursue opportunities in the spare parts business,” he shared.

Over its 57-year history, BSB Junrose has demonstrated remarkable resilience, growing steadily despite numerous challenges brought by economic shifts and evolving market dynamics. Initially focused on supplying spare parts and accessories for jeepneys, the company has since expanded its offerings to cover a wide range of vehicles — from compact cars, motorcycles, trucks and SUVs.

“During difficult years for the country — both politically and economically — many of our competitors left the market. We stayed,” shared Bangayan. “We remained committed to supporting the transport and automotive industries. By the time those competitors returned, we had grown stronger and emerged as one of the industry’s leading players.”

Over the years, BSB Junrose has implemented strategic changes in its operations. Beyond expanding the range of vehicles it serves, the company has built a nationwide presence, establishing dealer networks in key cities across the Philippines.

“Many of our customers used to travel all the way to Manila just to purchase our products. Now, they don’t have to — they can find a dealer or workshop much closer to home,” Bangayan noted.

BSB Junrose is also embracing technology to become more competitive and efficient. Alongside increased investment in systems and automation, the company continues to prioritize training and upskilling its personnel.

“We’re also putting our succession plan into motion, giving the younger generation the opportunity to lead,” Bangayan added. In November 2023, BSB Junrose officially appointed Ian Bangayan — a member of the third generation — as company president.
