After a dominant performance at the season opener in Clark, Access Plus Racing is set to continue its 2025 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) campaign this weekend at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC). With momentum on their side, the team is aiming for more wins and podiums as they take on Round 2.

Timothy Joseph “TJ” and Troy Alberto have both shown strong pace during testing on their Ducati Panigale V4s, giving the team confidence in their ability to deliver at BRC. However, the event carries extra weight for the squad. This was the very venue, and the very round, where Troy suffered a crash in 2024 that sidelined him for the rest of the season.

That memory still lingers, but so does the determination to overcome it.

The team is also mindful of the unpredictable weather, with the rainy season now underway. Combined with a 1.5-times points multiplier for this round, consistency and clean racing will be critical.

Qualifying takes place on Saturday, followed by both races on Sunday. With extra points at stake and weather as a potential wildcard, Round 2 is shaping up to be one of the most crucial weekends on the 2025 PSBK calendar.

TJ Alberto, #77: “We head into the weekend with a good points lead and a change in scenery, racing at BRC. It hasn’t always been our strongest track, but we turned that around last year and even set a new lap record. All eyes are on us now, but it’s only Round 2 of 7 — the goal is to stay consistent and take it race by race.”

Troy Alberto, #69: “Round 2 is a special one for me because it’s where I crashed out last year and missed the rest of the season. I’ve been looking forward to coming back here and putting those demons behind me. We’ve done a lot of testing, and I’m confident we can deliver strong results this time around.”

Toti Alberto, Team Principal: “Our goal is to repeat the 1-2 finish from the season opener. We’ve already proven that we can be just as fast in Batangas as we are in Clark, and everyone at Access Plus Racing is working flat out to give TJ and Troy the best chance possible. At the same time, we have to stay cautious— this is exactly where Troy crashed out last year. We’re praying for a safe weekend and hoping for strong results.”
