Following a devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake on June 8 that claimed 45 lives and displaced thousands, Vietnamese enterprises VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM have launched a PHP 50 million emergency relief initiative. The Vingroup subsidiaries distributed PHP 20 million each to Sarangani Province and General Santos City, and PHP 10 million to Davao Occidental to fund community rehabilitation. Additionally, the companies are providing PHP 100,000 directly to affected families for each fatality, standing in solidarity with local recovery efforts.

Philippines, June 24, 2026 – In response to the devastating earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, 2026, VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM have announced an emergency relief program worth more than PHP 50 million to support local authorities and communities in the hardest-hit areas, contributing to disaster recovery efforts and helping affected communities restore normal life as quickly as possible.

According to updates from government agencies and international media reports, the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck offshore Mindanao on June 8, 2026 caused extensive damage across several areas in Southern Philippines, particularly in the SOCCSKSARGEN and Davao regions. As of June 10, 2026, the disaster had claimed at least 45 lives, injured hundreds of people, left many missing, and forced more than 25,000 residents to evacuate. The earthquake also caused severe damage to homes, schools, roads, bridges, and public infrastructure, resulting in significant economic and social disruption across affected communities.

2026 Jun 24 600 pm VINFAST 2 TNPH — Representatives of Vingroup’s businesses in the Philippines present a PHP 20 million relief contribution to Hon. Lorelie G. Pacquiao, Mayor of General Santos City, in support of earthquake recovery efforts in General Santos City.

To support local recovery efforts and help communities overcome this difficult period, VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM have allocated a total relief budget of PHP 50 million for the areas most severely impacted by the earthquake. Under the program, General Santos City and Sarangani Province in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region each received PHP 20 million, while Davao Occidental Province in the Davao Region also received PHP 10 million to support recovery and community rehabilitation efforts.

In addition to assistance provided to local governments, the program also offered direct support to families who lost loved ones in the disaster, with financial assistance of PHP 100,000 for each fatality as a gesture of solidarity and compassion during this difficult time.

2026 Jun 24 600 pm VINFAST 3 TNPH — A PHP 100,000 financial assistance contribution was presented by representatives of Vingroup’s businesses in the Philippines to a representative of families who lost loved ones in the Mindanao earthquake, in coordination with local authorities in Saragani.

The assistance allocated to local governments was implemented in coordination with local authorities and directed toward priority recovery programs identified by each locality, helping communities restore essential services, stabilize daily life, and rebuild after the disaster.

Joyce, Mayor of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental; Hon. Bianca Ricci Bautista-Navarra, President of FABC Davao Occidental and Board Member of Davao Occidental Province; and Director Nonito A. Llanos III, Regional Director of LTFRB Davao Region XI, in support of earthquake recovery efforts in Davao Occidental Province.

The support program will be implemented throughout June 2026 through close coordination between VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, Green GSM, and local authorities in the affected areas. Through this initiative, the companies hope to contribute meaningfully to ongoing relief and recovery efforts while continuing to demonstrate social responsibility and strengthen their connection with communities in the Philippines, one of the key markets for Vietnamese enterprises in the region.
